Nursing Assistant II Job Description

About the Role:

The Nursing Assistant II is an entry-level position designed for current nursing students aiming to enrich their preparation for a nursing career. Under the guidance of an experienced nurse, you will acquire valuable hands-on experience by providing safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct patient care delivery, including ADLs, hygiene measures, select treatments, patient/family education, and discharge preparation.
  • Communication and documentation of interventions and observations.
  • Participation in quality improvement processes.
  • Involved in learning and self-improvement.
  • Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers.

Work Environment:

Current NA II opportunities exist across UH Elyria Medical Center, including various units such as Behavioral Health, Emergency, General Acute Care, Joint Camp, Medical Intensive Care, Operative Services, Step Down, and Surgical Intensive Care.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.
  • Successful completion of a Nursing Fundamentals course required.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program required.
  • Current enrollment in a BSN nursing program preferred.
