About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and electrical equipment.
  • Research and develop new electrical components and systems, including high-voltage switchboards and electrical distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other systems and components.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on electrical system design.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 9 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, including design, development, and testing of electrical systems.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field and 4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with design modifications, operations, and troubleshooting of Nimitz Class power systems, motor driven generator sets, and voltage regulators.
  • Direct experience with 4160V high voltage switchboards, electrical distribution systems, electric motors, motor controllers, and safeguard systems.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with project management and leadership roles.
