Compassionate Caregiver Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Amedisys, a leading provider of home health, hospice, and high-acuity care. As a CNA Hospice Aide, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families, providing much-needed care in the comfort of their own homes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics to perform specific techniques of personal and supportive care, such as ambulation, transferring, and positioning.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding, and perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
  • Observe, report, and document any changes in patient status, and follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist, and perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
  • CNA experience within the last two years, or completion of another training and competency program before providing services.
  • Current CPR certification.
