We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our team at Community Medical Centers Inc.
Job Summary:
The Registered Dental Assistant will assist the dentist in all aspects of dentistry, including four-handed dentistry, patient care, and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist in all phases of dentistry, including preparing patients for treatment, taking impressions, and exposing radiographs.
- Perform mouth-mirror inspections of the oral cavity, charting obvious lesions, existing restorations, and missing teeth.
- Take impressions for diagnostic and opposing models, and place and remove rubber dams.
- Assure that operatories and equipment are maintained clean and organized for use.
- Set up tables and trays with necessary items and instruments, and sterilize instruments as needed.
- Assist the dentist and hygienist in providing special knowledge on the preventive aspect of oral health to center patients.
- Perform basic administrative office procedures, including recording oral exams and maintaining inventory of dental supplies.
- Pour and trim models for diagnostic studies, expose, process, and mount radiographs, and aid in the presentation of post-operative instruction.
- Translate for the dentist as required, and may be required to work week nights and weekends.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of Dental Assistant experience or Dental Assistant Program completion Diploma
- Certified by the State of California to take Dental X-Rays
- Current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Ability to relate to low-income community residents
- Valid California Driver's license, proof of insurance, and personal transportation
Working Conditions:
Work performed in reception area, frequent contact with patients, work may be stressful at times, interaction with others is constant and interruptive, frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
