We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Attendant to become a valuable member of our Constellation team.

Compensation

$21 an hour

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Upon receipt of food and supplies, verify items against purchase orders. Assess food quality, freshness, temperature, quantity, and pricing. Reject substandard items before signing off on invoices.
  2. Notify the management team of any shortages or discrepancies in deliveries. In urgent situations, communicate with suppliers to obtain the correct items.
  3. Organize and store food and supplies in designated areas, ensuring perishables are promptly placed in refrigeration or freezing units.
  4. Implement stock rotation practices to utilize older items first, utilizing dating mechanisms. Remove damaged items from inventory for return to suppliers.
  5. Maintain cleanliness in storage areas by sweeping, mopping, and organizing daily. Dispose of empty boxes and debris from pathways.
  6. Ensure compliance with state storage standards, keeping items at least 6 inches off the floor and 18 inches from the ceiling.
  7. Monitor temperatures in storage areas, reporting any equipment malfunctions to management or maintenance as necessary.
  8. Assist in inventory management and record-keeping for government-donated food items when applicable.
  9. Uphold security protocols in storage areas according to departmental policies.
  10. Exhibit personal hygiene and adhere to uniform standards as outlined in the department dress code.
  11. Demonstrate reliability in attendance and task completion.
  12. Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
  13. Engage with customers and colleagues in a polite and friendly manner.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six months of experience in food service is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Able to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of organizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Possess a courteous attitude towards customer service.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs (80% of the time).
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and grasping (90% of the time).
  • Walking short distances (70% of the time).
  • Exposure to high noise levels (90% of the time).
  • Exposure to elevated heat and humidity levels (50% of the time).
  • Standing for extended periods on hard surfaces (30% of the time).
  • Pushing heavy, wheeled carts (60% of the time).
