MRA Recruiting Services is collaborating with a well-established organization seeking an Electrical Designer/Technician to manage the design, development, quality, and reliability of electrical systems for overhead crane projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers to seamlessly integrate electrical components into designs.
  • Create technical drawings and specifications for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with standards and customer specifications.
  • Design, implement, and enhance electrical instruments, equipment, or systems, while updating or developing new engineering standards to support existing or new software.
  • Revise standard systems to enhance quality and productivity while minimizing costs.
  • Initiate the development of a comprehensive database of drawings utilizing Solidworks.
  • Analyze and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements.
  • Establish and maintain a parametric bill of materials for system integration with material management and planning software.
  • Prepare specifications for the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Serve as a technical resource for product support, assisting customers, service personnel, and the sales team in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Occasionally travel to job sites to address and resolve challenges.
  • Convert frequently used Anvil parts and drawings into Solidworks format.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to tackle manufacturing, design, and quality challenges, ensuring ongoing process and method improvements.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary, with responsibilities encompassing but not limited to those outlined in this job description.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Preferred knowledge of circuit design.
  • Experience with TIA Portal or RS Logix is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 and UL 508A standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and complex problem-solving abilities.
  • Critical thinking skills to evaluate various solutions and approaches.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
Technical Proficiencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, ERP systems, and object-oriented development software.
  • Required experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-3 years of relevant experience, or 6+ years of relevant experience. This role presents a great opportunity for an experienced panel builder looking to transition into design work.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Capability to climb ladders up to 15 feet as needed.
  • Ability to reach above shoulders, kneel, or crouch for short durations.
