About the Role

Inngest Inc is revolutionizing the way developers approach queueing, event-driven systems, and step functions. As a Senior Infrastructure Architect, you'll play a critical role in shaping the company's infrastructure and architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and architect core systems, including message streams, real-time connectivity, and caching mechanisms.
  • Develop internal tooling to manage systems and ensure they are up-to-date and secure.
  • Provision and monitor systems on public clouds, bare metal, and future hardware.
  • Work closely with systems engineers to develop the execution engine, state store, and other critical components.
Requirements
  • Technical lead experience, owning complex projects from discovery to execution.
  • Deep understanding of system scaling, monitoring, and delivery.
  • Ability to identify business priorities and anticipate risks.
  • Passion for engineering and pragmatism in decision-making.
  • Experience with modern application design, API design patterns, performance, and scale.
Bonus Points
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with Clickhouse, Kafka/NATS, Terraform, Ansible, and other relevant technologies.
  • Bare metal experience.
  • Experience with FoundationDB and other data storage solutions.
  • Experience operating blobstores and Anycast/BGP.
