Sanitation Driver

We are seeking a skilled Sanitation Driver to join our team at the City of Clermont, FL. As a Sanitation Driver, you will be responsible for operating a Rear Loader, Automated Side Loader, and/or Clam Truck to collect refuse and trash from residences. This is a full-time position that requires a valid Class B Commercial Florida Driver's License with air brake endorsement.

• Drive and operate a Sanitation Truck to collect refuse and trash from curbside and other areas.
• Empty garbage cans and load trash into the Sanitation Truck.
• Use hand tools to pick up general refuse and trash from curbside and other areas.
• Exercise safety precautions while operating the vehicle and judge heights and distances.
• Complete designated refuse collection routes and deliver waste.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections of the vehicle and perform light preventative maintenance.
• May be placed on emergency call-outs.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience driving a CDL Class B or A vehicle.
• Valid Class B Commercial Florida Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
• Good eyesight, hearing, and speech.

This position involves working outside in sometimes adverse environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. Exposure to traffic and moving machinery is also a requirement.
