Feeding Westchester Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Operations Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform general maintenance and sanitation duties throughout the facility, including cleaning, trash removal, and recycling.
- Lead the cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of the facility, including managing all trash removal and recycling efforts.
- Assist in the maintenance of the distribution center, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with AIB standards.
- Complete assigned tasks from the distribution center cleaning schedule, including removing all garbage and trash generated by the distribution center.
- Inspect the distribution center daily, addressing any spills or trash that needs to be removed.
- Act as a backup to our commercial cleaning vendor to spot clean within the offices as needed.
- Prior experience in janitorial or maintenance environments.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and interest in hunger or related social issues, with a strong commitment to equity and inclusivity.
- Proven success in building and maintaining effective, collaborative working partnerships, ability to take initiative, and work well independently and as a team.
- Basic handyman skills.
Working inside a warehouse environment, working outside in all weather conditions in and around the distribution center, and ability to work irregular or extended hours as needed.
