Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide routine and complex care to patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, taking into account the patient's physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess the basic physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of patients and families.
- Communicate findings to appropriate healthcare team members.
- Develop and use a specific plan of care and modify it to meet individual patient needs using evidence-based practice.
- Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures, monitoring and documenting progression of treatment and teaching goals.
- Evaluate the care and treatment provided to the patient and the patient response to the care and treatment.
- Anticipate and plan for admission/discharge/transfer needs to facilitate patient flow.
- Utilize appropriate systems of communication and tools to facilitate the discharge process.
- Coach on tools and techniques for checking, cross-checking, and validating orders to ensure accuracy.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.
- Demonstrate good stewardship in proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Assess departmental staffing needs; actively participate in resourcing efforts.
- Educate and train others on the operations, ethics, and regulations within the industry.
- Incorporate patient safety practices/guidelines to promote a safe environment resulting in positive patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate accountability for nursing research and quality improvement activities.
- Provide evidence-based nursing care.
- Communicate patient information effectively across the continuum of care.
- Educate and train others on the operations, ethics, and regulations within the industry.
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- RN License in state of employment or compact.
- BLS required.
