Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Engineer to join our team at Canvas Inc. in Arnold AFB, TN. As a Cost Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing advisory and assistance services to the Program Management Division at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) Headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop quantifiable, verifiable, and auditable Basis of Estimates (BOEs) that meet AEDC and RFP requirements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of the PWS and SOW to formulate a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and identify required labor and ODCs.
  • Research and recommend sources of supplies/services for consideration by Purchasing organizations.
  • Document rationale and justification for BOE elements to ensure traceability to cost and technical narratives.
  • Conduct cost, schedule, contract performance, variance, and risk analysis.
  • Assist in proposal preparation and report generation as required.
  • Participate in development of cost controls, procedures, systems, and forecasting techniques to evaluate contract/program status.
  • Provide backup documentation for fact-finding and negotiations.
  • Develop and maintain a current, relevant, and accessible comprehensive electronic technical library.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required; Master's degree desired.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Effective interface with various Base organizations to complete support assignments.
  • Knowledge of government procurement processes and management of large complex construction projects desired.
  • Prior experience working at a military facility highly desirable (AEDC experience a plus).
  • PMP credentials desired.
  • Knowledge of RsMeans or similar estimating software highly desired.
