Position Overview:

The Primoris Transmission and Distribution division is seeking a knowledgeable Project Controls Specialist. This role will involve conducting profitability assessments, monitoring costs against budgets (both at the project and business-unit levels), planning and scheduling resources and time, financial reporting, and various project administration tasks for assigned Project/Program managers.
  • Assist in all facets of project execution, including resource utilization monitoring, developing change orders, and providing documentation support while advising the Project Manager on critical issues and their resolutions.
  • Analyze and review cost and budget expenditures.
  • Generate detailed computer-based cost reports, charts, and diagrams.
  • Gather cost and performance updates from engineering, procurement, and construction management teams.
  • Maintain historical cost and schedule records.
  • Support Project Managers in evaluating project profitability.
  • Facilitate monthly invoice preparation and generate supporting documentation.
  • Establish project accounting at initiation and finalize at project completion.
  • Provide monthly reports for ongoing projects.
  • Perform document control duties as assigned.
  • Document estimates and proposals.
  • Create time and resource schedules using Critical Path Method scheduling tools.
  • Manage change control and risk management processes.
  • Mentor less experienced colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience in the utilities construction sector.
  • Familiarity with EcoSys software is a plus.
  • A Bachelor's degree in construction management, business management, or accounting is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Project and/or Primavera scheduling software is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, scheduling, or project controls for construction projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
