Monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations is a fundamental aspect of this role.

In this position, the jobholder will manage a small team, including two direct reports and a consultant focused on environmental projects. Collaboration with peers in Operations, Engineering/Quality, and Maintenance is essential to enhance overall safety, health, and environmental performance.

As a member of the leadership team, the jobholder is expected to exemplify core organizational values such as safety, accountability, innovation, and professionalism. This includes ensuring that all team members possess the necessary skills for their roles, identifying key performance objectives, and motivating the team to meet or exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage SHE programs that comply with regulatory standards.
  • Lead training initiatives to enhance safety and environmental awareness.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance.
  • Mentor and develop team members to foster professional growth.
  • Oversee incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, occupational safety and health, environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in a SHE, operations, or engineering role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and EPA compliance standards.
  • Expertise in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of ISO systems and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
