Electrical Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary
This role involves performing root-cause analysis to diagnose and repair electrical equipment failures, ensuring compliance with local and national electrical codes. The successful candidate will also assist in reviewing electrical programs and procedures, communicate problems or concerns with the Maintenance Lead, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement to reduce operating costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis to diagnose, repair, and implement permanent solutions to equipment failures.
- Set up and adjust equipment to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to reduce operating costs.
- Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment according to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills and techniques to detect malfunctions in packaging equipment.
- Manage and maintain electrical parts inventory.
- Discuss machine operation variations with supervisors to diagnose problems and repairs.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement changes.
- Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times.
- Demonstrate high levels of good housekeeping practices to promote a safe work environment.
- Routine maintenance duties.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Profile
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Able to use basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds up to 40 inches from the floor.
- Able to function with a high degree of manual dexterity to assemble or repair precision equipment.
- Able to troubleshoot using a PLC.
- Ability to use a laptop computer for troubleshooting purposes.
- Able to stoop, bend, and climb.
- Able to operate material handling equipment including forklifts.
- Able to push/pull carts that may have loads exceeding 200 pounds.
- Able to read electrical schematics.
