Licensed Vocational Nurse

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or physician/advanced practice provider. Your observational skills will enable you to assist medical staff in ensuring optimal care within established policies, procedures, and standards.
Essential Responsibilities:- Exhibit excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, providers, and coworkers, demonstrating courtesy, compassion, and respect.
- Provide therapeutic patient care in accordance with established plans of care and within the scope of practice.
- Transcribe physician/advanced practice provider orders and administer specified medication accurately and safely.
- Execute treatments such as urinary catheterizations, intravenous catheter placements, and suctioning procedures, utilizing equipment as required.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of disinfectant and point-of-use policies.
- Perform related patient care functions, including taking vital signs, wound care, and instructing patients in self-administered treatments or procedures.
- Assist physician/advanced practice providers or other medical staff personnel with examinations and treatments, providing support and restraint to patients as directed.
- Observe and document patients' conditions, identifying unexpected and/or significant findings, and reporting them to the Registered Nurse or physician/advanced practice provider in a timely manner.
- Minimum 12 months of LVN direct patient care experience within the last 3 years, preferably in a medical office, acute care, home care services, or skilled nursing facility.
- Vocational Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
- IV Certification and Blood Withdrawal Certification preferred.

Notes:This position may require on-call variable hours and days, with the possibility of working out of any East End Clinic, including San Bernardino and Colton. The successful candidate will work in all areas of the clinic, including specialty areas, Peds, Adult Primary Care, Vaccine Clinic, Nurse Clinic, and Testing Areas.
