Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a Graduate Nurse to participate in our Nurse Residency Program. As a Graduate Nurse, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) Preceptor to provide care to patients within the scope of your role and professional standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in performing nursing care activities for the population served.
  • Perform patient assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and age-appropriate needs of the patients.
  • Develop a realistic, comprehensive patient family education plan and provide patient/family health education and coaching.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including processing of physician orders, in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the delivery of nursing care given by team members based on patient needs and professional judgment.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding all aspects of patient care.
  • Participate in training to understand and perform patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) issued by a Compact State within 6 months, or FUTURE - Registered Nurse (RN) within 6 months, or FUTURE - Status of Fail on The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses within 3 months of graduation date.
