Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at VITAS Healthcare, a leading provider of end-of-life care. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate and high-quality care to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Administer nursing care according to the plan of care to terminally ill patients
  • Evaluate patient/family needs and assist in the preparation and execution of the interdisciplinary plan of care
  • Perform selected acts in the care of the terminally ill under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Document reports in clinical notes and maintain accurate documentation
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients/families and invite their participation in the plan of care
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing
  • Currently licensed to practice nursing in the state where the VITAS program is located
  • At least one year of satisfactory nursing experience, at least one year of which is an LPN/LVN in a hospital on an adult medical surgical unit

  • Assist in lifting and transferring patients, as required

  • Ability to adjust focus

The employee will be required to sit and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
