Job Title: Therapist Intern

CHRIS 180 is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Therapist Intern to join our team. As a Therapist Intern, you will provide evidence-based clinical services to consumers and work closely with our team to ensure the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide positive role-modeling to consumers/clients, promoting self-esteem, healthy boundaries, and good hygiene.
  • Reinforce socially acceptable behaviors, teach thoughtful decision-making skills, and assess consumers' history of trauma, acuity, strengths, and needs.
  • Screen, evaluate, and triage potential consumers to determine the best course of action, provide initial clinical impressions, and administer biopsychosocial assessments.
  • Develop and monitor Individualized Recovery Plans (IRPs) and evaluate and document clients' level of functioning and progress toward attainment of goals.
  • Coordinate services and collaborate with other programs in the CHRIS 180 continuum, making necessary referrals to meet consumers' health, well-being, education, mental health, and employment needs.
  • Provide therapy for adults, children, and families who are referred to the CHRIS Counseling Center, demonstrating exceptional engagement skills and clinical expertise in providing trauma-focused mental health treatment.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy and the ability to obtain licensure.
  • Associate licensed (LAPC, LMSW, AMFT) or fully licensed (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) preferred.
  • Understanding of childcare concepts, skilled in providing individual, family, and group therapy, and able to effectively relate to clients, parents/custodians of all social, economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Solid decision-making ability, dependability, emotional stability, and physical capability to perform the outlined job responsibilities.
Work Environment:
