About the Role

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on our 6 North West unit at HUP Cedar, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to adult patients with acute medical needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide physical support to assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and using the toilet, while preserving their dignity.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to understand their needs and provide emotional support.
  • Participate in daily RN/CNA handoffs and unit huddles to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Collect and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse, as directed by medical or nursing staff.
  • Document observations of patient behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in assignments based on patient acuity and unit needs.
  • Support quality and safety measures in the work environment, such as adhering to hand hygiene protocols.
Credentials and Education
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
  • Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification is required.
  • CNA Certification by the State of Pennsylvania is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Matriculation in an accredited BSN Nursing Program is preferred.
