Ascension Health is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to enhance our Urology Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver exceptional medical care to patients within a dynamic clinical setting.
Key Details- Specialty: Urology
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, comprising 36 hours of patient care and 4 hours dedicated to administrative tasks.
- On-Call Responsibilities: Potential involvement in operating room support and on-call duties as necessary.
- Practice Environment: Fast-paced clinic, managing established patients while also developing a personal patient base. Previous experience as an NP or PA is advantageous.
- EMR System: Utilization of EPIC for electronic medical records.

Core ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will:
- Gather patient histories and conduct assessments through observation, interviews, and examinations. Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
- Deliver direct treatment and manage health conditions, referring patients to other healthcare providers or community resources when necessary.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families on preventive health measures, treatment options, and available community resources.
- Document healthcare delivery and nursing processes in compliance with specialty standards and organizational policies.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Nurse Practitioner credentials from the appropriate state board must be obtained prior to employment.
- Registered Nurse credentials from the relevant state board must be secured before starting the position.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) credentials are preferred.
Educational Background:
- A Master's degree in Nursing is mandatory.
