Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Community Care Physicians is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team in Family Practice Colonie.

Responsibilities:
  • Practice medicine with physician supervision, conducting examinations and writing prescriptions.
  • Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
  • Order and perform laboratory diagnostic and other screening tests.
  • Treat illnesses, give injections, and suture wounds.
  • Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care.
  • Counsel patients and families on preventive health care.
  • Participate in peer reviews, chart reviews, staff education, clinical guideline development, and other continuing education activities.
Requirements:
  • License and active registration as a physician assistant or registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York.
  • For Physician Assistants: Bachelor's or equivalent degree in physician assistant studies and successful completion of a physician assistant training program approved by the NYS Department of Education or accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Successful completion of a nurse practitioner education program acceptable to NYSED and current certification as a nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • At least one year of experience as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner in ambulatory health care.
  • Current CPR certification.
