Psychiatry Specialist

Job Summary:

This position involves providing psychiatric services and treatments to patients in a community-based mental health setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of medicine and be able to accurately examine, diagnose, counsel, and treat a variety of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide psychiatric services including assessment, diagnosis, and medication management to adults.
• Coordinate services with on-site treatment teams, including nursing staff and mental health treatment staff.
• Provide documentation of services and e-prescribing through electronic health records.
• Offer consultation and occasional daytime coverage for other prescribers.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited medical school or university.
• Board Certification in Psychiatry.
• Possession of a license to practice medicine by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Working Conditions:

This is a permanent position available during business hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
