The Therapeutic Mentor provides youth under the age of 21 with structured, one-to-one support services to address daily living, social, and communication needs. This role involves coaching, supporting, and training youth in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct time with youth engaged in activities that address goals on their treatment plan or Individualized Care Plan (ICP).
- Offer coaching, supporting, and training to ensure youth success in navigating social contexts, learning new skills, and making functional progress.
- Maintain regular phone and face-to-face consultation with youth.
- Collaborate with other individuals the youth and family may have contact with, such as Case Managers, Probation Officers, Judges, District Attorneys, Attorneys, Teachers, Physicians, etc.
- Awareness and sensitivity to contextual variables such as race, culture, gender, sexuality, disability, economics, and lived experience.
- Submit detailed progress reports and follow compliance guidelines.
- Provide client transportation for treatment-related activities.
- Degree Required: Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
- Driver's License and auto, and proper auto insurance required.
- 2 year's minimum required experience (volunteering or working with youth)
- Bilingual Preferred (Spanish/English)
