Design Operations Assistant Manager

At Oakwood Village, we're seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to oversee the design team's schedules, maintain and develop department workflows, and act as a liaison to other departments and vendors. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organization and communication skills, a strong interest in developing systems and workflows, and a proven track record of managing project deadlines and key dates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project deadlines and key dates
  • Update and implement workflows as departmental needs evolve
  • Track department materials and liaise with other departments to manage material requests
  • Liaise with out-of-house vendors, communicate deadlines and priorities, and represent company values and standards
  • Manage company cover meetings and agendas/communications related to these meetings
  • Assist with seasonal title assignments
  • Complete data entry and run reports from Biblio
  • Maintain design drive resources
  • Gather/organize materials for company meetings

Requirements:

  • Expert use of Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Mac Platform
  • Impeccable organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Proactive with tracking schedules and managing projects
  • Ability to create and implement new processes
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Firm knowledge of the bookmaking process, from early stages to printed books

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years publishing experience
  • Production editorial, managing editorial, and production management experience is a plus
  • No design background needed, but knowledge of the Creative Suite is a plus
  • Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent work experience

This role will have an annual salary of $55,000 - $62,000.
