Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team at SST Direct in Sherwood, TN. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on various equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including greasing, oiling, and replacing filters, to prevent equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct visual inspections of all process equipment to identify potential issues and take corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with equipment, using your problem-solving skills and technical expertise to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Operate a service truck with a crane to replace components and perform other maintenance tasks.
  • Perform mechanical work using hand and air-powered tools, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Generate and communicate necessary documents and defect reports to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Enforce safety policies and maintain a safe work environment, participating in safety meetings and the Behavior Based Safety program.
  • Assist teammates and support Safe Quality Food certification requirements, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and quality.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of electrical experience, with a strong understanding of mobile equipment mechanics.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or technical program, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with basic reading and math skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work any shift, overtime, and on-call as needed, with a strong attendance and reliability record.
  • Safety-oriented with a team mindset, able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to access all plant locations, including heights up to 120 feet, confined spaces, ladders, stairs, and tunnels.
  • Exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and lime/mineral particles.
  • Physical actions such as standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting.
