Position: Financial Operations Associate – Hybrid
Department: DAS – Central Business Office
Compensation: Competitive hourly salary
Job Overview:
Under direct supervision, the Financial Operations Associate will manage a variety of financial tasks including the preparation and processing of invoices, cash receipts, vendor payments, and journal entries. This role will also assist in the creation of reports and other accounting-related functions, potentially overseeing the development and monitoring of smaller departmental budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Management: Assist in the preparation of financial schedules and reports. Support accountants and financial managers in analysis and investigation.
- Fiscal Analysis: Aid in the reconciliation and compilation of financial data to provide actionable insights to program managers and division directors.
- Accounting Tasks: Participate in various accounting functions and special projects. Ensure accuracy in fiscal documentation and apply entries to the correct accounts.
- Year-End and Audit Support: Help prepare year-end accruals, reversals, journal entries, and respond to audit requests.
- Policy Development: Assist in formulating departmental policies and procedures.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current resident of Wisconsin
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
- At least one year of accounting experience, or a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Basic proficiency in relevant software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
