Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Central Territory. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all employees, residents, and visitors to the complex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform property security rounds and building opening/closing procedures per shift.
  • Monitor and sign in-out all visitors and clients to the complex. Escort funds/visitors and staff between complexes and to vehicles when requested.
  • Respond immediately and appropriately to all emergencies, including fire, medical, biohazard, bomb threats, inclement weather, and other building emergency situations.
  • Assess situations quickly and take appropriate actions to protect employees, clients, and visitors.
  • Respond to code/alarm activations and notifications to effectively manage the situation through to its successful completion.
  • Participate in performing tours of facilities, examining access control points for appropriate security measures, and reporting environmental deficiencies.
  • Monitor property through computer-linked security and access control systems and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems.
  • Attend bi-monthly security meetings and training sessions to maintain job-related certifications.
  • Maintain provided uniforms and present in a professional and clean manner.
  • Driving is an essential function of the position.
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • 6 months or more experience in a related field.
  • Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic computer skills to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
