Seeking a skilled Charge Nurse to lead our 2C Neuro Progressive Care Unit team. This part-time (12 hours weekly) position requires a strong nursing background and excellent leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to the staff members of the unit in the area of patient care.
Coordinate care on designated shifts and determine needed staffing fluctuations during shifts.
Respond to departmental concerns, address immediate staff issues, and coordinate patient flow.
About the Unit:
The Neuro Unit is a 12-bed unit specializing in neuroscience nursing for intermediate level adult patients with acute primary neurological diagnoses. We have excellent ratios (3-4:1) with 24/7 leadership on the unit, including a stroke coordinator.
Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. As a certified Primary Stroke Center, 2C Neuro has been recognized as a state-of-the-art stroke care center.
Requirements:
Graduate of an approved nursing program, holding a minimum of an ASN.
Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
BLS for healthcare provider required.
ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
One year of nursing experience required; One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.
Professional/Specialty certification required as per unit/department standards.
