Job Summary

Banner Surgery Center - Union Hills, managed by Atlas Healthcare Partners, is seeking a skilled Surgical Instrument Specialist to join their team. This ASC offers exceptional care and outstanding customer service to patients and physicians in the Glendale community. The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain a sterile environment, anticipate the surgeon's needs, and provide top-notch support during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling and organizing instruments and supplies.
  • Review case carts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs and pass instruments, retract tissue, and operate equipment during surgery.
  • Dispose of sharps and trash, and place used supplies in case carts for processing.
  • Participate in counting of sharps, instruments, and sponges, and prepare instruments for cleaning.
  • Assist with OR turnover between cases and participate in stocking, replenishing supplies, and cleaning operating rooms.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Registration with State Regulatory Agency, where applicable.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to maintain professional decorum in high-stress situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from a certified school of surgical technology or 2 years of operating room experience.
