Position Overview: In the role of Principal Engineer, you will be instrumental in offering technical guidance and leadership within our Building Environments Group.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of profitable projects by monitoring financial performance, resource allocation, and expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of extensive experience in Mechanical Engineering design within the building services and construction sector.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building codes and mechanical design principles.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects across various sectors and regions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and familiarity with other MEP building systems, with the ability to analyze and resolve technical challenges effectively.
  • Experience in high-performance building design utilizing electrified solutions for both adaptive reuse and new construction projects, with an understanding of the impact on carbon footprint and project viability.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation or equivalent certification is required.
  • LEED AP accreditation is preferred, showcasing a commitment to sustainable design practices.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Revit for detailed design and computational analysis tools, including CFD and energy modeling software, to create innovative and energy-efficient solutions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an MEP Engineering Consultancy or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and deadlines while ensuring client satisfaction.
  • A proactive self-starter with a founder's mentality, capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Expertise in mentoring and developing junior engineers to foster growth within the team.
  • Successful track record in business development, client acquisition, and maintaining long-term client relationships is advantageous.
