Role Responsibilities
The Senior Psychiatric Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and providing specialized treatment to patients within the State Hospital system. This role involves:
- Performing advanced psychiatric assessments and collaborating closely with the State Hospital Medical Director.
- Monitoring patient progress and implementing tailored recovery plans in conjunction with the Recovery Team.
- Administering appropriate psychiatric treatments and procedures, ensuring adherence to established standards of care.
- Leading discussions in meetings to foster understanding and support for necessary changes in patient care practices.
- Participating in committees aimed at enhancing the quality of care based on current research and regulatory guidelines.
- Supervising and guiding the work of multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care delivery.
Essential Functions
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Maintain regular attendance and be flexible with shift schedules as required by operational needs.
- Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to assess and treat patients, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
- Conduct performance improvement reviews and participate in various committees as necessary.
- Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Additional Responsibilities
As part of your duties, you may also be involved in disaster response initiatives and other operational activities as assigned. This may require adaptability in your work schedule.
