Job Summary

The Cafeteria Worker will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and serving of meals to students and staff at Shades Valley High School. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and make a positive impact on the school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with food preparation and presentation
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment
  • Interact with students and staff in a professional and courteous manner
  • Follow Child Nutrition Program guidelines and regulations
  • Use technology as required to perform job responsibilities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457
  • Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance
Working Conditions

The Cafeteria Worker will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and noise. The ability to stand for long periods and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds is required.
