JOB OVERVIEW
- Operating Room / Perioperative Nurses are essential in delivering surgical patient care by evaluating, planning, and executing the nursing care patients receive before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Responsible for providing surgical patient care through assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing interventions.
- The OR nurse / OR RN also acts as a patient educator, circulating nurse, and/or scrub nurse.
- Circulating OR nurses operate within the surgical suite but remain outside of the sterile field.
- Scrub OR nurses are tasked with managing and preparing surgical instruments and equipment within the sterile environment.
- Current BLS & ACLS certifications.
- Active and unencumbered RN license in Georgia.
- A minimum of two years of recent RN experience in the operating room.
- At least two years of experience as a circulating and scrub nurse.
- One year of experience as a travel RN.
- Completion of COVID vaccination series including booster.
- Commitment to maintaining and enhancing clinical knowledge and skills.
- Engagement in relevant continuing education opportunities.
- Dedication to providing the highest quality patient care and exceptional service to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset is essential, along with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with physicians, management, and staff across the department and facility.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, organizational abilities, and flexibility to manage multiple tasks.
