Job Title: Assistant Baseball Coach

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Baseball Coach to join our team at Eastern Oregon University. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach in all facets of the program, including recruitment, training, and competitions.

Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment: Assist the Head Coach in researching, scouting, and evaluating prospective student-athletes, while ensuring compliance with department, institutional, and NAIA regulations.
  • Training: Assist in designing, conducting, and monitoring athletically related activities, including competition, practice, and conditioning opportunities.
  • Competitions: Assist in developing sound game plans and strategies for the team, and participate in game day activities, including practices, pre and post-game meals, travel, and lodging.
  • Public Relations/Fundraising: Participate in public relations activities, represent the university at professional and civic events, and take an active role in securing resources for the department.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with facility scheduling, cooperate with other coaches and staff, and promote an atmosphere of compliance and adherence to institutional, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • One year of experience as a collegiate baseball player and/or baseball coaching experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to promote an atmosphere of compliance and adherence to institutional, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.
  • First Aid/CPR Certified.
  • Mental Health First Aid Training.
  • Current and Valid Drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in any related field.
  • Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
