Position Title: Cybersecurity Specialist

Employment Type: Full-Time Contract

Department: Information Technology

Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 per year

St. Clair County Community Mental Health Authority (SCCCMHA) fosters a work environment that emphasizes recovery and discovery through a holistic, person-centered treatment approach that is trauma-informed and culturally aware. All staff members are expected to contribute to this supportive atmosphere.

The Cybersecurity Specialist will be appointed by the IT and Facilities Director at SCCCMHA. This full-time role is non-union and offers a comprehensive salary and benefits package commensurate with the required experience. A Bachelor's Degree is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and necessary certifications as specified below.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual in this role will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the security infrastructure of Information Technology, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability assessments, encryption, and alert systems.
  • Evaluating and managing network access rights.
  • Coordinating and conducting annual vulnerability assessments and subsequent reporting.
  • Leading the Privacy and Security Committee.
  • Ensuring the physical security of organizational properties.
  • Designing and implementing staff training programs.
  • Providing assistance to the Recipient Rights Office and Corporate Compliance Office as required.
  • Managing video surveillance systems and camera upkeep.
  • Staying informed about current security practices, vulnerabilities, threats, and countermeasures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a security-focused role.
  • Possession of at least one of the following certifications: COMPTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, PSP, or CPP.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to interpret laws, policies, and procedures to achieve equitable outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to convey information effectively, providing evaluations and opinions based on facts and analyses.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships through diplomacy and influence.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Discretion and flexibility in problem-solving.
  • Leadership qualities to guide and advise colleagues.

EXPERIENCE

  • Specialized training in threat detection, incident response, risk management, and security policy formulation.
  • Experience in both network and physical security roles is highly desirable, with a solid understanding of IT systems, network infrastructure, security protocols, and physical security measures.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Possession of a mobile phone.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are advantageous:

  • Personal experience with behavioral health services.
  • Familiarity with the Community Mental Health system and its operations.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems.

SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities and will report directly to the IT and Facilities Director.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Employees must be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the role, which may include lifting objects up to 25 pounds and maintaining focus and attention for extended periods.
