Key Responsibilities
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for planning and executing analyses, inspections, designs, tests, and integrations to ensure the quality of assigned products or components. This role includes conducting quality-engineering reviews of design documentation to verify compliance with requirements, including vendor quality manuals and internal quality records. The engineer will utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques to analyze data and assess process modifications.
Documentation of data gathered during quality assurance activities is crucial, adhering to company policies and procedures. The engineer will also devise innovative solutions to problems identified during these activities. Significant findings or developments will be communicated to management, along with suggested process enhancements.
The Quality Assurance Engineer will prepare reports and present technical and program information to team members and management. They will oversee technical and administrative personnel involved in quality assurance tasks and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
The engineer will develop, implement, and uphold quality requirements and standards for product development and manufacturing, designing and executing methods for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection. They will advocate for and implement quality standards, inspection processes, testing methodologies, quality plans, documentation, and reports, while also assisting in process certification.
Additionally, the Quality Assurance Engineer will review customer change requests to ensure all necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans. They will develop, execute, and analyze quality-reporting metrics, providing management with insights on quality issues, trends, and losses. Supplier audits will be conducted, and supplier quality requirements established, while also participating in internal and external quality audits and collaborating with supplier and customer quality representatives to address quality assurance challenges, ensuring effective corrective actions are taken.
