Position Overview
As an integral part of the Air Mobility Command, the primary function of this role is to act as the environmental program manager, overseeing project management, execution, and operational responsibilities within designated environmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Leverage extensive environmental knowledge to effectively manage assigned projects or programs, utilizing professional expertise in environmental engineering practices and methodologies.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local environmental regulations while executing projects or program elements, whether conducted in-house or through contracted services.
3. Provide expert advisory services on specific challenges, projects, and functions within the assigned program area, serving as the foremost technical consultant on environmental compliance laws and regulations.
4. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental protocols, contributing to a safer work environment.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the specialized experience requirements as outlined in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for relevant professional and scientific positions.

Basic Requirements
Candidates must possess the necessary educational qualifications in the following areas: Community Planning, Natural Resources Management, General Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or General Physical Science.

Specialized Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, which includes:
- A broad range of environmental responsibilities, adapting techniques to address various challenges.
- Knowledge of applicable environmental laws and regulations to inform decisions regarding restoration, compliance, and pollution prevention.
- The ability to assess environmental issues and their implications within assigned projects or programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
1. Comprehensive understanding of environmental principles and practices to facilitate project development and execution.
2. Proficiency in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including legal and health professionals, scientists, and community representatives.
3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information clearly and establish effective working relationships.
