Assistant Miller Job Description

The Assistant Miller plays a crucial role in the milling process, ensuring the smooth operation of our business. This position requires strong safety awareness, quality control, and efficiency in milling processes. The Assistant Miller will work a 12-hour shift, with options for day or night shifts, and will be part of a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to all safety policies, GMP, HACCP, Sanitation, and Business Unit procedures.
  • Understand and meet customer specifications for milled flour.
  • Operate transferring equipment and systems safely and efficiently.
  • Sample and analyze milled flour.
  • Analyze flour using lab instruments and safely operate lab equipment.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and climb stairs and ladders as necessary.
  • Lockout, open, unstack, repair, and restack sifters.
  • Measure flour and feed levels in storage bins.
Qualifications:
  • Strong reading comprehension, writing, math, and communication skills.
  • Effective work planning and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems and recognize solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and process control.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and available for flexible hours.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in elevated heights and confined spaces.
  • Perform physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, and lifting.
