Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure donor satisfaction through effective communication and responsiveness to their needs.
- Assess donor eligibility by evaluating healthy individuals for plasmapheresis procedures and immunizations in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Clearly explain informed consent processes for plasmapheresis and immunization, detailing procedures, risks, and potential reactions.
- Address donor inquiries and provide them with the opportunity to decline participation.
- Conduct thorough physical assessments for donors and review collected data promptly to confirm donor eligibility.
- Assist in the Donor Room with tasks such as completing plasmapheresis and whole blood procedures, ensuring donor safety, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Supervise or provide immediate care for donors experiencing adverse reactions during plasmapheresis or immunization.
- Administer immunizations according to established protocols and monitor donor responses.
- Offer confidential counseling to donors who do not meet eligibility criteria.
- Maintain the center's emergency medical supplies and equipment to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Inform donors of any positive viral marker test results.
- Review test outcomes and consult with the Center physician regarding any unusual or concerning results and medical incidents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Exceptional patient and donor assessment abilities.
- Capability to manage emergency situations with composure and adherence to medical protocols.
- Must hold a valid nursing license in the state of operation.
- Previous experience should reflect adaptability, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
- Must possess a valid nursing license or equivalent certification as required by state law. A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field is preferred.
- Active licensure in the state of operation is required, along with passing medical credential evaluations.
- Previous experience should demonstrate adaptability and effective communication skills.
- Current CPR certification is mandatory.
- Experience in a supervisory role within a regulated environment, particularly in plasma or blood collection, is preferred.
- Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods and work flexible hours.
- Capability to lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Proficiency in using computer software, including DMS and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel as necessary.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is a requirement of the role.
- Physical capability to perform CPR and assist in emergency situations.
- Operates in a climate-controlled plasma center.
- Engages in activities within the processing area, including storage facilities.
