The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and diagnostic services.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are ever the same. You will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment.

About the Role

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work closely with our healthcare team to prepare patients for scanning, administer radioactive drugs, and operate nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that we provide accurate and timely diagnoses to our patients.

  • You will perform high-quality dynamic and static SPECT and PET/CT imaging procedures, utilizing patient population-specific standards to obtain the desired diagnostic information.
  • You will be responsible for various radiopharmacy duties, including the receipt, preparation, administration, and storage of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • You will perform quality control procedures to ensure optimal performance of gamma cameras, computers, and other related auxiliary equipment.
  • You will practice safe handling of radioactive materials according to departmental NRC and State regulations to minimize radiation exposure to yourself and others.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $44,700 - $71,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, you will also have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Graduate or Equivalent and completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist in Nuclear Medicine through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or CNMT certification through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.

This position requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, dust, noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
