Biller/Collector Specialist

The Biller/Collector plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient collection of outstanding accounts at Kingwood Pines Hospital. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills to interact with hospital staff, medical staff, and external parties to resolve payment discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
Key Responsibilities- Verify insurance benefits and collect co-payments, deductibles, and deposits
- Makes payment arrangements with patients and responsible payers after consultation with supervisor
- Contacts insurance companies to resolve claim receipts and follow up on payments
- Follows up on self-pay accounts by phone and letter
- Reviews account balances and refers accounts for outside collection
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Minimum of two years medical billing experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting
- MS400/Meditech system experience preferred
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications (Excel) required
