Job Description

A Complex Construction Project Leader is sought by Aristeo, a leading general contractor in the automotive and industrial sectors. This role offers a challenging opportunity to oversee construction projects of various sizes, ensuring timely completion within budget.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, including technical, safety, schedule, cost, and financial responsibility. They will oversee construction efforts to ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, design specifications, budget allocations, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring seamless operations and successful outcomes.
  • Develop and implement project plans, aligning resources to meet project objectives.
  • Partner with superintendents and other stakeholders to manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Supervise the total construction effort to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and design specifications.
  • Interface directly with clients, architects/engineers, and other contractors to facilitate communication and coordination.
  • Create and manage project schedules, including resource allocation and task prioritization.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts, including fee payments, rental equipment, and income/expenses.
  • Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Represent Aristeo in project meetings and assist in labor negotiations/strategy sessions.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate boundaries.
  • Manage job costs and coordinate subcontractors and lead contractor meetings.
  • Write and manage subcontracts and change orders.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Project Engineers.
  • Problem solve and handle issues appropriately.
  • Responsible for efficient and complete project closeout, including financial.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must possess strong leadership skills, be self-motivated, and interested in developing new accounts. They should have the ability to manage all aspects of a project, including technical, safety, schedule, cost, and financial responsibility. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Primavera, AutoCAD, and Viewpoint software is required. Experience in the automotive sector is preferred, as well as excellent problem-solving and planning skills.

Bachelor's Degree Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field or construction management is necessary. Candidates should have at least 7 years of experience in heavy civil project management.
