Job Title: Travel Nurse RN Long Term Care

Tact Staff is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN Long Term Care professional to join our team in Edison, New Jersey.

Job Summary:

As a Travel Nurse RN Long Term Care, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centered nursing and rehabilitation services to patients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Unit Manager to maintain excellent clinical standards and patient experience.
  • Providing the highest level of service to all patients, families, and visitors to ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensuring all assigned residents receive all medications, treatments, and nursing care as ordered.
  • Completing all required documentation as per state/federal guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:

As a Travel Nurse RN Long Term Care, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and making assignments of nursing personnel on the unit.
  • Establishing the nursing care plan, utilizing nursing diagnosis for patients in cooperation with the supervisor and nursing personnel on the unit.
  • Implementing plans of care for residents.
  • Consistently, accurately, and independently prioritizing and completing routine assignments within guidelines and schedules.
  • Recognizing psychosocial needs, their possible effects on behavior, and intervening to provide emotional support.
  • Maintaining accurate, informative records on all patients in the unit.
  • Identifying and reporting all real or potential problems regarding the development or administration of patient care.
  • Maintaining adequate inventory of medications, equipment, and supplies on the unit.
  • Recording, reporting, and interpreting patient responses to treatment and care to appropriate members of the inter-disciplinary team.
  • Identifying and assessing any changes in patient conditions/needs and reporting to Charge nurse.
  • Maintaining all equipment as per facility policy and using equipment consistent with equipment specifications.
  • Participating and representing Harborage and Nursing staff on committees, as requested by supervisors.
  • Identifying patient needs and treatment opportunities, providing services to meet those needs on an on-going basis.
  • Maintaining professional competence and keeping current with Occupational Health and nursing trends through participation in continuing education, in-service programs, professional staff sessions, and training of nursing personnel.
  • Fostering good relationships and communications with all Team Members, patients, family/significant others, and visitors.
  • Assisting with new Team Member orientation and providing key experiences to prepare Team Member for independent performance of essential job functions.
Requirements:

To be successful as a Travel Nurse RN Long Term Care, you will need:

  • Demonstrate a team approach to problem-solving through frequent communication and collaboration on complex issues to provide appropriate care.
  • Minimum 1-year prior experience working as an RN in a subacute long-term care/rehab facility.
  • Must have experience working with a variety of patient conditions and ages.
