Associate Project Engineer: Rehabilitation Expert

We are seeking an Associate Project Engineer to join our team at the New York Power Authority.

As an Associate Project Engineer, you will play a key role in planning and overseeing the rehabilitation of the Erie Canal. This is a challenging and dynamic environment that offers room to grow and learn for individuals looking for a career in Civil, Structural, and Water Resources engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize project teams, assign individual responsibilities, develop project schedules, and determine resource requirements
  • Monitor and report on the status of projects including cost, timing, and staffing
  • Ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards
  • Manage complex engineering projects, including personnel, safety, quality, scope, schedule, and budget

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Energy Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Project / Construction Management
  • New York State Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to get one within 2 years

Benefits:

  • Approximately 25% travel primarily within NY State
  • Willingness to enter confined spaces and climb/scale power system apparatuses
  • Ability to travel to vendor facilities (worldwide) to support construction activities and inspect equipment fabrication and commissioning
  • Availability to work outside of normal business hours (including weekends) when project demands

Estimated Salary Range: $76,910.00 - $105,750.00 per year
