Speech Language Pathologist Job Opportunity

Laredo Medical Center's Physical Medicine Department is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Speech Therapy and at least one year of experience in a hospital setting. Proficiency in written and verbal communication, as well as experience with computerized documentation, is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating disorders of communication, cognition, and swallowing. They will also provide education and training to meet interdepartmental needs and work effectively within a team.

The Speech Language Pathologist will be required to conduct bedside swallow assessments, perform Modified Barium Swallows, and develop treatment plans in accordance with departmental guidelines and best practice standards.

Key qualifications include a graduate degree in Speech Therapy, licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Texas, and certification from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). A Certificate of Competence (CCC) is also required.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written communication skills, be able to articulate skilled criteria, and have experience with the Pt Driven Payment Model (PDPM) system.
