In-Person Language Facilitator for LEP Communities

Job Description:
This contract position is responsible for facilitating onsite communication for LEP community and the practitioners that serve them in various settings. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal communication skills in both Cambodian and English, strong listening and retention skills, and experience in code of ethics and standards of practice.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
* Provide effective onsite interpreting sessions in a professional manner
* Exhibit professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality and preparedness for sessions
* Demonstrate ability to adapt quickly to new and changing situations
* Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedural requirements specific to interpreting context
* Fluent and strong verbal communication skills in both Cambodian and English
* Excellent listening and retention skills to maintain a high level of accuracy during interpretation
* Successful completion of a proficiency assessment or national certification
* Extensive knowledge of code of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC)
