We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Trainee to join our team at Loves Travel Stops & Country Stores. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our diesel equipment.

Job Summary

The Diesel Mechanic Trainee is responsible for assisting experienced technicians with routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, heavy equipment, and trucks. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in the diesel repair industry or those looking to transition into a new field.

We offer a comprehensive training program that covers electrical diagnostics, air conditioning and heating systems, wheel end assembly, air system, and braking system repairs. Our trainees learn from experienced professionals and work on a variety of equipment, including semi-trucks, trailers, and diesel generators.

This is a hands-on position that requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. If you are motivated, eager to learn, and enjoy working with your hands, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced technicians with routine maintenance and repairs
  • Learn preventative maintenance services and basic computer diagnostics
  • Maintain clean and organized workspace
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • No prior experience necessary; we provide comprehensive training
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in close quarters
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in various temperatures and environments

We offer a competitive salary of $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
