Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Plating Technician to join our team. As a Plating Technician, you will be responsible for the preparation and plating of metal parts, ensuring high-quality finishes and adhering to strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal parts for plating by cleaning and degreasing surfaces
- Operate plating baths to pickle and passivate metal parts
- Assist in cleaning acid baths and mixing new bath solutions
- Inspect passivation analysis and report any issues to supervisors
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S and lean manufacturing principles
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality control
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment and report any issues to supervisors
- Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of manufacturing experience
- Basic knowledge of cleaning baths and plating processes
- Proficient in use of basic computer applications
- Familiarity with blueprint and process sheet interpretation
- Ability to work with and around chemicals, including cyanide, hydrofluoric acid, and nitric acid
- FAA certification
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to 22 lbs.
Desired Characteristics:
- 1-3 years of manufacturing experience
- Prior experience working with acids and bases
- Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing principles
- Experience in a self-directed teaming environment
