Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a vital member of our Transportation practice while also providing support for related environmental, energy, infrastructure, and real estate matters as necessary.
  • Collaborate directly with partners and clients on various legal matters, which may include drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, preparing memoranda of law, and negotiating contracts and operating agreements.
Qualifications for Success

You will excel in this position by:

  • Possessing 7 or more years of relevant transactional, administrative law, or litigation experience.
  • Exhibiting outstanding writing, analytical, and advocacy skills, along with the ability to effectively engage with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrating adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, successfully managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Showing a high level of comfort working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Taking initiative by being proactive, accountable for client matters, delegating effectively, and seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Exhibiting academic excellence and leadership, having earned a law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Being licensed to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction (preferably NY or DC).
Preferred Qualifications

You will stand out from other candidates if you possess some or all of the following:

  • Experience with matters before the Surface Transportation Board, Federal Railroad Administration, Federal Transit Administration, Federal Highway Administration, or state or local transportation agencies.
  • Experience representing public transportation agencies.
  • Experience in transactional matters involving federal grant funding.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach to legal practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to actively listen, engage, and convey complex information effectively.
Position Details

This is a full-time position with an annual expectation of 1,600 billable hours for associates, incorporating unlimited approved pro bono hours into this target. The salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, STD, LTD, group term life insurance, 401(k), flexible PTO, and parental leave. The firm also covers certain public transportation expenses.
