About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist - Surface Grinder Operator to join our team at ITW. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating surface grinding machines to grind silicone rubber to precise tolerances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate surface grinders safely and efficiently to meet production requirements.
  • Finish sheets to size using various equipment, including band saws, buffing machines, and sanding tools.
  • Package and create finished products, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Perform basic maintenance on equipment, including grinders, band saws, sanders, and buffing wheels.
  • Support sheet molding operations, including prepping metal and molding sheets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying principles such as 80/20, PLS, and USA.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with surface grinding machines and machining processes.
  • Ability to use measuring tools, such as Vernier calipers, scales, and micrometers.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills and computer literacy.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a plant environment, with frequent standing, walking, and grasping. The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and use safe lifting methods to move up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus.
